Mother & Sons | Outdoor Sunflower Field Photography Session | SF Bay Area Photographer

Mountain View, CA Family Photographer

This beautiful series of was a joy and a delight to capture. I originally met this sweet Mama in my kickboxing class, of all things! She is a loving military spouse raising two wonderful little boys. We photographed this Mommy & Me Photo Session outside in a field, right at sunset. I used golden backlighting to create a sun-soaked, candid, summertime feel for these family portraits. I simply adore their unique connections here. This session features unposed moments and authentic interactions. These sweet boys were full of energy and a healthy dose of mischief. It’s always fun to take little boys outside and let them run barefoot, wild & free, right where they belong!

Wardrobe for Outdoor Family Session

This sweet family opted for a boho, free spirited, outdoor style. I love this mama’s wardrobe choice of a long flowing off the shoulder white dress. This is perfect for summertime and the free spirited vibe I strive to capture in my photography. The boys are shirtless and barefoot which is perfect for those lazy Southern summers. The suspenders are a great way to add interest, beauty, and poetic appeal to the images. I love having little boys be barefoot and shirtless during family photos. I highly recommend this aesthetic!

Photo Session Information

This outdoor family session was originally photographed in my hometown of Memphis, Tennessee, although now I am a child, couple, & family photographer serving the Silicon Valley, SF Bay Area, and Midpeninsula region. These photos were taken on a Canon EOS 60D with a 50mm lens. I didn’t own a 35mm at the time, but probably would have preferred that lens in this case. We had to stand very close because the sunflower fields were so crowded with other families and yes even photographers! Fortunately, you can’t tell how crazy it was just by looking at the photos. :)
