Rancho San Antonio Family Photos in Autumn
Fall is definitely one of the busiest times of years for family photography! The Bay Area has a million wonderful landscapes to offer for families looking to take their yearly Christmas card photo. We don’t, however, get much in the way of golden leaves like the East Coast does! Moisture and rainfall play a big factor in determining the changing colors of the leaves. So for families looking for pretty Fall colors, one way to give off the strong Autumn vibes is with a great Fall color palette, like this family! I love how mom incorporated a pop of orange in baby girl’s outfit. This adds a warm element of vibrancy which helps to bring the gallery to life.
These fall family photos were taken on the outskirts of San Jose, near Cupertino. I love this location, but it’s important to remember that on weekends in October, many photo-friendly locations are VERY crowded at sunset. I’m definitely not the only photographer in the Bay Area! If you’re looking for quiet recommendations of pretty parks in the Bay Area for your yearly family photos, be sure to let me know so I can make some recommendations.
This family has three beautiful children. As a full time professional photographer specializing in exclusively families, I can definitely attest-thotographing children is inherently very unpredictable. Most kids will listen or cooperate politely for the first 5 minutes or so. After that, they’d rather run around the park, so that’s normal! I try to do my posed “look at me and smile” photos at the first five minutes of the session. After that, I rely on my parents to play with their kids naturally and keep them focused and laughing. Engaged parents are a huge element to getting gorgeous family photos—and these sweet parents demonstrated this beautifully!
Are you planning on scheduling Fall Family Photos? Be sure to schedule no later than Sept 1! Believe it or not, many photographers get quickly booked up, and many prime dates such as weekends are quickly snagged. (However, if you don’t get a weekend date, don’t fret— week days are way less crowded anyways!) Just remember to plan your photography session date and outfits in advance so you can enjoy stress-free family photos!
