Let me help tell your Family’s story through my photographs.
When I ask my mamas when the last time they had their family photos made, there are a few common answers that consistently come up in these conversations. One trend is that families take photos when their kids are newborns or young toddlers, and then hardly any other proper photographs of their children for basically years! I know so many mamas who have told me about getting caught up in life and routines and the understandable whirlwind of life, and suddenly it's been years and years since they had proper family photos made. Just snapshots. Usually on an iPhone, these days. And even more commonly--and tragically? Mama is never in the photos. She's always the one holding the camera.
Her sweet connection with her children, the special way she holds them, and the special way they hold on to her-- it's so often overlooked.
I believe in capturing the in-between seasons of life. The milestones that are beautiful but not really milestones. So much is happening in these often overlooked in-between years! It's a beautiful stage of growth and transition and childhood that deserves to be captured one frame at a time. I know I don't need to tell you how quickly time changes. You already know. I'm sure you like me, are just standing bewildered asking, how did the summer sprint past us already? When you invest in photography, you're not just investing in photographs. You're investing in your family, your loved ones, your memories, and your legacy. As they say, a picture tells a thousand words.
Let me help you tell the story of your love.
There's an old quote about photography that says, "I don't shoot what it looks like, I shoot what it feels like." And I increasingly find this to be true. Photography allows us to truly connect to the artistry and beauty of subtle moments, which in itself is a sacred and meditative act. I want to show my families how beautiful they are, and how beautifully I see them. We all change a little bit each day but sometimes we don't realize how far we've come until we look back on our photographs. One day our baby's curls have gotten longer and their imaginations and adventures get bigger and bigger. And we blink and our little ones are two or five or teenagers and it happened so quickly.
Photography helps us capture these fleeting stages. Photographs help time slow down. They help us remember. These moments are precious and they deserve to be immortalized forever and ever.
There is nothing truly more artistic than to love people. ~Vincent Van Gogh
