Maternity Photography Session | San Francisco Bay Area Photographer | Iris & Lace Photography
Is there anything on earth more beautiful than the promise of a new life, deeply loved and prayed for? My heart just loves photographing maternity sessions, especially with a couple just like this! Seeing their love and excited anticipation is such a treasure. I am honored to have the privilege of photographing this milestone before they undertake such a grand adventure with their new baby.
This beautiful gallery celebrates the growing life of a proud and excited couple soon to welcome their baby son into the world. Maternity sessions are best photographed around 30-32 weeks. Her gorgeous red dress accentuates her growing belly and highlights her sweet baby bump. I love this rich, bold color. You can opt for a figure-hugging dress or a flowing dress, but I do recommend long maternity dresses over short maternity dresses. It is also best to opt for a single color, or small subtle patterns, when choosing an outfit. Skip the bold, big, or vibrant patterns for another day.
Another great feature for dressing up maternity photos is featuring beautiful wardrobe pieces such as a sunhat, beautiful boho jewelry, or a flower crown. I will be able to consult with you on your wardrobe and options if you would like to enhance your photos this way!
This outdoor session was photographed right at sunset at the end of summer just on the cusp of Fall, so you can see a hint of orange in the trees. I strove to capture authentic, unposed, organic moments between the two of them. This collection was photographed on a Canon 5D Mark IV with a 50mm 1.4 lens, one of my favorite lenses. All photos were edited in Lightroom first as well as Photoshop. No presets or actions were used; all photos are hand-edited individually.
