Read MoreOne of my favorite things about being a family photographer is that I get to witness and capture beautiful couples in their new roles as parents. These sweet parents were so obviously dedicated and loving to each other, and seemed so effortless in their role as new parents to this sweet baby boy. Their home was decorated with beautiful photos of their wedding and their adventures, and now, my heart is overflowing with joy as they will be decorating their home with photos of this new stage and journey in their lives.

Read MoreI especially the way that lifestyle newborn sessions are laid-back, authentic, and effortlessly include the new parents into the photos. Documentary sessions are captured right in the comfort of your very own home, which always makes everyone feel most at ease. They are slow and un-rushed. The baby or children set the tone and pace for the photos. Newborn photography is especially natural, organic, and candid. I simply photograph my families, exactly as they are—no over-the-top props, babies in baskets, or excessive Photoshop. Just you and your loved ones, snuggling in the comfort of your own sofa and bedroom.
